Amidst flashbulbs going berserk, Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta flashed her dimples, grinned and expressed happiness over picking seamer Mohit Sharma at Rs. 6.5 crore. But she admitted that her team’s resources were stretched during the IPL auction here on Saturday.

“I think we were made to (stretch our budget), we needed a fast bowler, who could bowl at the death. Sometimes (other) franchises push up the price, sometimes it is intentional, sometimes it is unintentional. We wanted Mohit,” Zinta said.

Mohali will stay as a venue When questioned about issues affecting Mohali, the IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla stepped in and said: “In the IPL Governing Council meeting, we have already taken a decision; the franchise has to play a minimum of four games at their centre (home ground).”
