Delhi Daredevils star Yuvraj Singh says he has a great understanding with coach Gary Kirsten, who always gets the best out of him.
“I have the same relationship with him now as I did when he was with the Indian team,” Yuvraj said ahead of the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.
“He (Kirsten) always pushes me hard and wants me to win games for the team. That gives me a lot of confidence,” he said.
“In a T20 game there is very little time to settle down. But, I had quite a few overs against Kings XI Punjab in the last game. I am glad I got the runs for my team. It was a big relief, not because I got some runs, but because the team won.
“That win was a huge morale-booster for the team. We are looking forward to a few more wins to get to where we belong,” Yuvraj said. “I am just enjoying my cricket; playing by the day. I had a decent domestic season and I’m looking forward to better things,” he said.
“My big goal is to get Delhi back on track. Every game is different. You have to stay positive and play the role defined for you, work as hard as you can for the team’s cause,” Yuvraj said. “The Vizag wicket always aids spinners as the game progresses. They play a vital role here,” he said about the wicket for Saturday’s game.
“It is important to keep winning. My team looks settled and good enough to do so,” he said.
Asked if there was any pressure on being the costliest player in this IPL, Yuvraj pointed out that he would have played the IPL for any amount.
