The Mumbai Cricket Association will hold a managing committee meeting on Thursday evening to take stock of the situation regarding the switching of the IPL final venue from Mumbai to Bangalore. The IPL Governing Council has written to the MCA giving reasons for the change.

Among the reasons mentioned in IPL chairman Ranjib Biswal’s letter, is that not all franchise owners would be allowed inside the Wankhede. (KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan is barred from the Wankhede for five years after being accused of abusing a security guard in 2012, and indiscipline when confronted by association officials.)

Other reasons listed are: a) Lack of sufficient parking space for VIPs, BCCI and IPL members; b) too many MCA volunteers; c) Mumbai Police’s fee of Rs. 50 lakh for security being too high; d) not enough hospitality boxes at the stadium; e) too low advertisement revenue from inside the stadium and f) the police rule denying use of public address system and fireworks after 10 p.m.
