AP, other news agencies not to cover IPL

April 15, 2014 06:58 pm | Updated May 21, 2016 11:32 am IST - London:

The Associated Press (AP) and other international news organisations have suspended the coverage of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The IPL organisers have barred photographic agencies that have traditionally covered cricket from working at the T20 international tournament, which is made up of city franchise teams. Organisers said a small selection of pictures taken by its own photographers will be made available to the media.

International media has not covered the last three editions of the IPL as well as tours to India by Australia and England because of similar restrictions.

AP is working with the News Media Coalition, a consortium of international media, to try to resolve the issue.
