A soggy outfield prevented any play on the second day of the fourth and final Test between the West Indies and India at the Queen’s Park Oval here on Friday.
The umpires inspected the conditions, which remained unfit for action. Rain and a saturated field had limited play to just 22 overs on the opening day.
“We’ve given the ground every chance to dry, unfortunately we’ve lost this fight today [Friday],” says umpire Nigel Llong. His colleague Rod Tucker adds: “If there’s no more rain, we hope to have play at some stage on Saturday.”
The West Indies was 62 for two in its first innings after winning the toss and choosing to bat, with Kraigg Brathwaite 32 not out and Marlon Samuels unbeaten on four.
