Harish sets up Pistons victory

S. Harish Kumar slammed an unbeaten 100 (64b, 4x4, 7x6) to power India Pistons to a 125-run win over Nelson in the VAP Memorial Trophy on Monday.

Harish and skipper M. Prabhu (71, 76b, 6x4, 2x6) added 136 in 18.1 overs for the seventh wicket.

At SSN, R. Ananth’s 91 and K. Sambasiva Sarma’s all-round performance (70 & four for 40) helped UFCC (T Nagar) pip Young Stars by fours runs.

At MRF-Pachaiyappa’s, Globe Trotters scored a four-wicket win over Alwarpet in a low-scoring encounter to register its second win and qualify for the quarterfinals.

Alwarpet 89 in 36.4 overs (Ashwath Mukunthan three for 18) lost to Globe Trotters 90 for six in 17.5 overs (S. Aniruda 31). Trotters 4 (8), Alwarpet (0) .
