JP Duminy and Faf du Plessis grafted half centuries as South Africa posted a challenging 259-8 against Pakistan in the third one-day international on Wednesday.

Duminy successfully overturned a caught behind decision on 3 and went on to score 64 off 89 balls while du Plessis ended his run-drought by hitting 55 with eight fours in his first half century in 11 ODIs.

Duminy shared two solid partnerships -- 70 runs with captain AB de Villiers (34) and 61 with David Miller (34) against some sloppy Pakistan fielding.

Quinton de Kock made 40 and shared a 77-run second-wicket stand with du Plessis after Hashim Amla (10) was clean bowled by Mohammad Irfan off a superb full length yorker.

Irfan took two late wickets to end up with 3-46.
