Dhoni all praise for Harbhajan

M.S. Dhoni lauded Harbhajan Singh’s winning effort against England and admitted that he now has a ‘problem of plenty’, when it comes to selecting the playing eleven. The Indian captain also praised Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir.

In the post-match press-conference, Dhoni said: “Considering the circumstances, the pressure of making a comeback and his own desperation and expectations, Harbhajan bowled brilliantly.

“Off course I have seen him bowl better than this but as I said earlier, the circumstances made it very special. He was aggressive, was particular about the field settings and bowled a good line and length, mixed up his variations, the doosras and the top-spinner and it is good that he did well.”

Problem of plenty

The skipper said that the ‘problem of plenty’ will cause a selection dilemma. “We have two of the best openers — Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. And it is going to be a difficult choice but I can’t say anything for certain now about whether I will play five bowlers or two spinners together. It all depends on the pitch and the conditions but a player like Harbhajan can also bat a bit.”

Dhoni added that he always rated Rohit ‘very high' and that Gambhir’s performance will help him ‘gain confidence.'

Meanwhile Stuart Broad said that Harbhajan ‘bowled very well’ and expressed disappointment over his team’s performance. “In the end, we made it easy for India,” the England captain said.
