Australia has dropped batsman David Warner from the Champions Trophy match against New Zealand on Wednesday because he was allegedly in a fight with an England player at the weekend.

Cricket Australia said in a statement on Wednesday that Warner has been reported for “unbecoming behaviour, after he was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with an England player in the early hours of Sunday morning following the ICC Champions Trophy match between the teams in Birmingham.”

Warner will face a hearing on a date yet to be determined.
