Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim both struck centuries to lift Bangladesh to an imposing 329/6 its highest one-day international score in the first match of its series against Pakistan on Friday.
The total eclipsed Bangladesh’s previous best of 326, which also came against Pakistan in a losing cause during the Asia Cup last year.
Tamim hit 132 for a fifth ODI century while Mushfiqur scored 106 to reach three figures for the second time in ODIs. It is the first time that two Bangladesh players have made centuries in a one-dayer.
Shakib Al Hasan was the other notable scorer with 31 after Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat.
Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz returned figures of 4/59.
