Having reached the halfway stage, IPL-V has become the organiser's dream with no runaway leader in sight, said the Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Daniel Vettori on Friday.
“It's probably the organiser's dream and so is it from the perspective of the fans. I think it is good to have an incredibly tight tournament. There are some quality teams and no one has really stood out,” Vettori said.
Vettori, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, said he would have a fitness test to decide on his availability. When asked who could be the replacement if he is absent, Vettori said, “It's important to get the balance right with four overseas players. Our overseas players have performed exceptionally well, particularly in the last few games so the choice becomes difficult.”
Vettori said his pace spearhead Zaheer Khan was improving with every match.
KKR's assistant coach Vijay Dahiya said: If you look at this year's IPL, it looks like it is starting from now. Eight games have gone by but everybody is neck to neck and it all comes down to who travels well now on,” he said.
Dahiya said pacer L. Balaji, who is recovering from a groin strain, had a full practice session on the eve of the match.
