Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly said on Monday he had received an anonymous ‘death threat’.
Ganguly, who is also Cricket Association of Bengal president, confirmed the news after chairing a CAB Working Committee meeting here.
“Day before yesterday I received an anonymous letter with a death threat. I am supposed to attend a felicitation function, to be jointly organised by the Vidyasagar University and Medinipur district sports department, in Medinipur on January 19. I have informed the police and the organisers about the threat,” Ganguly told reporters.
However, Kolkata Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vishal Garg said they had “got nothing so far” on the development.
