Zurich will host the 2014 European athletics championships. The European Athletics Council says it unanimously elected the Swiss city on Saturday for the 22nd edition.
Switzerland last hosted the championships in 1954 in the capital Bern.
This year’s European athletics meet will be held in Barcelona July 26 to Aug. 1st.
Helsinki, Finland will host the 2012 championships.
