Medals withheld

The medals of two athletes, including that of a record holder, and a relay team in the 72nd inter-University athletics championships, which concluded at Moodbidri on Wednesday, have been withheld as they did not report for a ‘doping test'.

K. Praveen Kumar, Physical Director of host institution Alva's Education Foundation told The Hindu that Harvinder Singh of VBSP University, Jaunpur, who set a new meet record in hammer (66.59m), Rahul of MGS University, Bikaner who was second in discuss (52.02m) were withheld.

University of Delhi's men's 4x00m relay gold was also withheld as none of the four runners appeared for the test.
