The National Anti-Doping Disciplinary panel, entrusted with the unenviable task of re-opening the past doping cases, on a petition filed by marathon runner Sunita Godara on Friday allowed the petitioner to file affidavits from witnesses within a week.
The panel, headed by Sudhir Nandrajog, also ordered that the Sports Authority of India (SAI) be made a party to the proceedings since it apparently had information dealing with some of the past cases dating back to 1991.
Yet to receive list of offenders
Godara claimed that she was yet to receive the list of dope offenders during the 1991-2000 period while the panel was informed that some of the federations had conveyed to the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) that there were no available records for that period.
The SAI was yet to reply to the request to make available the missing lists.
No general issues
Nandrajog told the petitioner that he would not be able to entertain general issues pertaining to doping and she needed to bring forward specific cases.
He said all legal issues concerning such cases would also be kept in mind while taking up those cases.
