A total of 512 took the poll.  Among those who participated, 56.2 % of women and 47.7% of men said that they always carried a cloth bag with them, and 39% of our female- and 37% of male- readers used eco-friendly personal care products.

While a couple of readers mentioned that they carry non-plastic water bottles and avoid using plastic bottles, a few others said that they use steel and glass items at home. The other responses included avoiding straws, buying metal or bamboo straws and using biodegradable plastic. A few of our readers accepted that they haven’t done anything, but that from today they would try to avoid use of plastic.

Interestingly 70.3% of the total percentage knew about the theme of World Environment Day.
