Kabali. Kabali. Kabali. Kabali. Kabali. Kabali.
That’s pretty much all that went on today in the interwebz. If aliens had dropped down to Earth on July 22, they’d think the Superstar was the be-all and end-all. My inner Chennaiite is extremely disappointed at my attitude towards the ‘Thalaivar’ though.
But even in the midst of all that Kabali mayhem, there were several other #Therific issues that social media was preoccupied with today.
100 days of Therific records
The Tamil cinema side of Twitter, while they were not busy with Kabali, also managed to celebrate actor Vijay’s film Theri running for the 100th day.

Kickass Torrents
The web world went into collective mourning for the loss of what is said to be the world’s biggest online piracy site - KickAss Torrents. The alleged boss of the website, Artem Vaulin, was hit with U.S. criminal charges accused of distributing over USD 1 billion worth of illegally copied films, music and other content. He was arrested in Poland.
But, like all things of the web that sprout a second, third and ninth life, KAT was back online as a mirror site.
Owner of Kickass torrents arrested. He should demand trial on P2P basis for everyone who used the website to download torrents.

And people still couldn’t let go of Kabali. Sigh.

Meanwhile, there’s a change.org petition going around asking for Vaulin’s release.

Pokemon GOes back to Japan
One would think, that being the country that originally produced the phenomenon that is Pokemon would get them first in line for Pokemon Go.
Unfortunately for Japan, they had to wait for a bit. But Nintendo officially launched the augmented reality game in anime land on Friday, leading to many fans of their game officially getting their noses stuck to their phones.
Trainers in Japan, thank you for being patient. Pokémon GO is now available to download in Japan!
