Keeping with the festive spirit, e- commerce retailers Snapdeal and Amazon on Tuesday hosted discount sales and offers on products across segments. #SnapdealSavingsDay sale, which started at 7 a.m., has offers across segments – fashion, electronics, home – with cashback offers ranging from 5%-10%. The home-grown marketplace is offering Rs. 50 cashback for every purchase through its app.

The Notion Ink Cain 2 in 1 ultrabook, a Snapdeal exclusive, was on sale for Rs. 19,460. During the course of the day, Snapdeal will refresh the offers every hour.

While mobile phones and tablets were offered at a minimum discount of 50%, fashion and apparel products were given an ‘extra 42%’ discount.

Amazon, the latest entrant in the e-commerce space, is hosting the ‘Appiness Day’ sale. Users who use the Amazon app to shop stand a chance to win 11 months of free shopping worth Rs. 11,000 per month. The sale includes discounts and cashback offers across segments.

Last month, SoftBank announced investments in Snapdeal. The company's Chairman and CEO Masayoshi Son, Japan’s richest businessman, evinced interest in investing further in India, saying that the country was ‘the top most priority for SoftBank’.
