Internet Explorer 10 now available for Windows 7

Internet Explorer 10 is now available for Windows 7. Until now, the browser had only been available for Windows 8 and an advance version of Windows 7. Internet Explorer 9 users will automatically get an update in the coming weeks, reports Microsoft.

Preferences and bookmarks will be preserved. Anyone who wants to skip the new version can download a programme to automatically block the update.

Set and change your default programmes. Whether opening pictures, zip files or videos, a lot of computers default to pre-installed software to open files, even if users have installed specific software for that purpose.

To get the programme you want, right-click on the file’s icon and use the “open with” function to choose the desired application from a list of available options. Put a tick next to the box asking if you always want to use this application for opening that kind of file and a new default will be set. The choice can be undone under Defaults in the system menu.
