Chinese technology major Huawei has launched a club for technology enthusiasts in India. Huawei plans to use this channel to listen to consumers, present information on products and services, and provide online content and face-to-face interaction with its engineers. This is the first Huawei club started outside China, where it was launched last year and has a membership of over 5 million Chinese tech enthusiasts. To begin with, the club will focus on promoting its new user interface, the Emotion UI, an Android-based protocol that is the standard UI in most recent Huawei smartphones, a release from the company said. Speaking at the launch here, Wilson Wang, chief operating officer of Huawei Technologies India said the company believed this was necessary for close collaboration with users. The Huawei Club will conduct periodic events for members across India cities in colleges and at tech fairs.
