Afterlight app

There are a ton of photo apps in the market, but the latest entrant, Afterlight, will definitely take your breath away.

Afterlight offers a lovely camera interface. When you fire the app up and tap into the camera view, you will be able to shoot immediately. Those who love grids will love the app’s grid. It can come handy for street photographers who wish to use the rule of thirds.

If you tap the grid button a second time, you will get an alignment tool that will help you get those cityscapes just right.

A unique feature of the app is its white balance lock. You can access this feature directly on the right of the grid button and lock your white balance on the fly.

Afterlight’s editing is not a disappointment too. You will be able to see a row of six icons at the bottom of the screen in the edit view. You can make all the basic edits by using the second button on the left hand side of the app.

There are three categories of filters – original, guest, and seasons. Each category has filters for just about any situation. Once you select a filter, you will get a slider that will let you adjust the intensity of the filter. This can be helpful when your photo just needs a nudge.

If you think that the filters just won’t cut it, then you have a library of film effects in Afterlight that can be used over all edits and filters. It also has a huge library of frames.

Once you are done editing a photo, you can share it directly on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, and add it to your camera roll as well. Although the app offers a ton of ways to edit your photos, it does so in a clean way. Those who use it for the first time will face no difficulty is editing a photo in the app. The regulars will be continually surprised with the wide selection of filters and film effects.
