Adobe Inc., the IT firm known best for the popular Portable Document Format (PDF), released the latest version of its PDF reader here this week. The Adobe Acrobat XI software is a software solution that deals with “more complex document challenges”, a release from Adobe stated.
This will now feature complete PDF editing and export to Microsoft PowerPoint, along with new capabilities and functionality designed for tablets and mobile devices, such as touch-friendly capabilities allowing users to add comments, fill in, save and sign forms.
New features include being able to edit and organise PDF files better using a fresh intuitive Edit Text and Images tool, retaining source file integrity, enhanced mobile capabilities (more touch-friendly), improved file protection and better integration with other office suites. Adobe announced that the store price is expected to be Rs. 19,001 for Acrobat XI Standard, and Rs. 28,502 for Acrobat XI Pro.
HP launches programme for students
Tech major Hewlett-Packard announced the India launch of the HP Institute, an academic partnership programme that will equip students with business-ready IT skills. A release from the firm stated that this was part of the HP ExpertOne programme and would offer HP Accredited Technical Associate (ATA) certifications.
A similar institute was launched in the U.K. in February this year. As part of the training programme, HP will work with universities to bring practical experience and job-ready skills into an academic setting, packaged in a way to help India develop the abilities of its graduate workforce, the release added. “There is a pressing need across the IT ecosystem to ensure that entry-level hires are better equipped with the precise skills and experience they need to handle today’s technical and business challenges,” said Neelam Dhawan, vice-president and general manager, Enterprise Group, and country managing director, HP India.
Infosys announces Aspirations 2020 winners
Infosys Ltd. announced winners of Aspirations 2020, an online programming contest organised by the Campus Connect programme, an industry-academia partnership. Around 32,000 contenders from 517 engineering colleges across 20 States participated in the event. A team from the Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences, Visakhapatnam, won the top prize, while a team from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology was the runner-up.
