Skills for the 'cloud'
Red Hat, a leading open source solutions provider, has announced a new certification for professionals.
Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator (RHCVA) is designed to equip IT professionals with the knowledge and expertise to deploy and manage virtual systems in a cloud computing infrastructure.
With the adoption of cloud computing among businesses across the Asia-Pacific region, systems administrators and IT professionals are looking to gain new skill-sets to prepare for this IT evolution.
The RHCVA certification provides systems administrators and IT professionals with necessary training in virtualization, which is foundational to cloud computing.
The course is designed to benefit experienced Linux, Microsoft-certified and Cisco-certified system administrators, giving them the skills to manage large numbers of servers or virtual machines using Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, a high-performance and scalable virtualization solution.
“The move to cloud computing is progressing for many enterprises and forward-looking IT professionals are taking action now to acquire these new skills to manage the new generation data centres of tomorrow,” said Alan Ho, senior manager, Services Marketing, Red Hat Asia Pacific / Japan.
Securing mobile environment
Symantec Corporation has announced a major update to its mobile security and management strategy — a broad approach to provide mobile solutions for enterprises, consumers and communication service providers to secure and manage any mobile device anytime, anywhere.
Symantec has also announced new security and management capabilities for Android and Apple iOS — the operating system for the iPhone and iPad — in addition to existing support for Windows Mobile, Symbian and BlackBerry.
New features, including remote wipe, password policy enforcement and device inventory, enable organisations to embrace these new devices while maintaining the security and integrity of corporate information and assets.
Shantanu Ghosh, Vice-President, India Product Operations, Symantec, said: “We're making it easier for enterprises to allow their employees to use their device of choice without putting corporate data at risk.”
