A hundred cycles rolled down the 100 ft road towards the Madras Medical Mission. The event was the 10th year celebrations of the World Heart day. “The tragedy is that a huge percentage falls under the list that are in their prime of life on whom families depend,” says Dr Jacob Jamesraj, senior cardiac surgeon at the Madras Medical Mission. A significant portion of our work force indeed!
The rally was flagged off by Md. Shakeel Akhter, Addl Commissioner of Police, Law and Order. Senior police officers including Seema Agarwal, ADGP, Sanjay Arora and others participated along with senior doctors, staff and students of the Madras Medical Mission. Vijay Adiraj, a film personality, said that being organised takes away a lot of stress from life. Visiting medical fraternity from Uganda, Nigeria and Kenya were also part of the rally making it a ‘global' participation. The BSA cycles sponsored the cycles for the event.
