Adjuvants with severe physiological side effect have been administered to hundreds of children during vaccine trials conducted at a government hospital in Indore over the last few years, and that too without the approved Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

The trials conducted on at least 836 children at the Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, the paediatric division of the Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital, were spiked with adjuvants that contain high levels of mercury, aluminium, detergents, pesticides and human carcinogens.

Banned by FDA

An adjuvant is used to spike a vaccine to boost its impact and amplify the body's immune response to the vaccine.

Two of the adjuvants used, Thimerosal and Squalene, are banned by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) department of the United States. In India, there is still no protocol regarding the use of adjuvants.

Thimerosal, which contains 49.6 per cent mercury, can be so dangerous that vaccines in several Western countries are branded as Thimerosal-free. Its side effects include neuro-developmental disorder, autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and speech delay, while Squalene can cause the Gulf War Syndrome and dementia.

RTI information

“In special cases, the maximum recommended dose of Thimerosal is 1 mcg [microgram], while these children at CNBC were administered doses of 25 mcg,” said whistleblower Anand Rai, who accessed the information under the Right To Information Act.

Other adjuvants used include Tween-80 (detergent), 2-Phenoxyethanol (pesticide), Formaldehyde (carcinogen), and Amorphous Aluminium Hydroxyphosphate Sulphate (aluminium).

The adjuvants were administered along with vaccines such as HPV 503 cervical cancer vaccine, H1N1 flu vaccine, hepatitis vaccine, easy five vaccine and Imovax polio vaccine.

The trials were conducted without the required SOP by hospital paediatrician Hemant Jain.

Schedule Y of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and the 2006 guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research, require the SOP to be cleared by an Ethics Committee before the commencement of any clinical trial.

In reply to an RTI query, Dr. Jain stated: “To the best of my knowledge, none of the adjuvants used to boost the immunity of vaccines has any clinically significant side effect.”

Expresses ignorance

However, when contacted by The Hindu about the fact that the administered adjuvants had harmful ingredients such as mercury, pesticides and carcinogens, Dr. Jain expressed ignorance.

“I don't know anything about the contents of the adjuvants, but they have always been used with vaccines. You should ask the companies about adjuvants,” he said.

Even the adjuvants used on children in Indore that are not banned by the FDA have side effects — termed insignificant by Dr. Jain — ranging from skin irritation, hypertension and irritable bowel syndrome to brain damage, Alzheimer's, infertility, genetic mutation, hypertension, acute renal failure, convulsions and damage to the central nervous system.

'The Hindu' deserves to be congratulated for exposing these sordid experiments inflicted on Indian children! It seems that the mentality of Nazi doctor Joseph Mengele is still well and alive! As far as I am concerned, vaccination is an organised criminal enterprise dressed up as disease prevention. Vaccines have never prevented anything, apart from health, sanity and common sense.
'Belief in immunization is a form of delusional insanity.' Dr Herbert Shelton, USA. Referring to the effects of childhood vaccination programmes, US neurosurgeon Dr Russell Blaylock MD says: "So, you're sequentially and repetitively giving powerful immune brain stimulation, one after another. When you do that in an experimental animal - whether it be a Rhesus monkey, rats, or whatever - if you use the same schedule, what happens is that the brain is progressively destroyed. The development of the brain is severely altered. Now, that is proven beyond a shadow of any doubt. Now, that's exactly what we are doing to every child when we repeatedly vaccinate it."

Funny how there are claims of Thimerosal being removed from vaccines due to public outcry and yet the CDC web site clearly shows it has not and remains in many of the childhood vaccines given in the U.S.A. ("Vaccine ingredients sorted by ingredient"). As for the argument about vaccines-do-not-cause-autism debate? Well, it has NOT been solidly proven either! Poul Thorsen who was responsible for some of those particular studies in support of the alleged 'fact' that they're not related has been indicted on 13 counts of embezzlement and for filing FRAUDULENT STUDIES (including, but not limited to, *gasp*, autism studies)! Then there's the whole Fox News story today in regards to that very argument as well ("Probe to Reveal Link Between Vaccine Settlements and Vaccines"). Also, there's the whole National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act [1986] which compensates U.S. families for injuries caused by vaccines! And while the U.S. Supreme Court [third circuit] managed to take away our rights to sue vaccine manufacturers if our child(ren) are injured by a vaccine in the Bruesewitz v. Wyeth hearing they also clearly stated that vaccines were 'unavoidably unsafe products'.

Thimerosal has been proven to break down to inorganic mercury and accumulate in the brain of primates. It is like it does the same in humans. Although Thimerosal is listed as a preservative in US vaccines, it undeniably acts as an adjuvant. Mercury is a known immunotoxin which precipitates an amplified immune system response...the definition of an adjuvant. The author is correct that Thimerosal is an adjuvant, whether it is claimed to be in the vaccine as a preservative or not. Why would single dose, prefilled syringes require a presevative anyway?

Those studies the state there is no link between Autism & vaccines was dismissed.... please check your facts before posting

Thimerosal is not an adjuvant. It is a mercury based preservative used in multi-dose vials. Unfortunately, it has not been banned in the U.S. In fact, it is in most doses of annual flu vaccines. But it has been removed from most other U.S. vaccines through the use of single dose vials. This article is correct regarding squalene, which is an adjuvant, and has not been approved for use in the United States.

What is an adjuvant? -- An adjuvant is a substance added to a vaccine to stimulate the immune system's response to the target antigen, but does not by itself confer immunity. A tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis vaccine, for example, contains some aluminium hydroxide as adjuvant. Aluminium salts are common adjuvants in certain vaccines and have been used in vaccines for over 70 years. The body's immune system develops an antitoxin to the bacteria's toxins, not to the aluminium, but would not respond enough without the help of the aluminium adjuvant. (information taken from Wikipedia).Unfortunately, the writer of this news story has clubbed all vaccine-additives as adjuvants. The aluminium salt mentioned in the article is certainly an adjuvant, and so are Squalene and Tween 80; but not thimerosal, 2-phenoxyethanol, and formaldehyde. The last three are preservatives (not adjuvants) for preventing microbial contamination of the vaccines. Phenoxyethanol is not a 'pesticide";. Tween 80 is a very special type of detergent called non-ionic detergent, and is edible -- it is not the 'detergent' that you use to wash clothes! All three are used in such minute quantities in vaccines as to be harmless. There was a hue and cry about the supposed link between thimerosal and autism, but several scientifically studies have conclusively exploded the myth. It is true that the use of thimerosal as a pereservative for vaccines has discontinued, but that was only because of the above-said public outcry based on misinformation.
