Who killed him?

While the acquittal of all the accused, including the Sankaracharyas of the Kanchi Mutt, by a Puducherry court in the Sankararaman murder case due to lack of evidence would come as a big relief to many, it has also dealt a big blow to the criminal justice system. Who killed Sankararaman? Was it a case of suicide?

V.S. Jayaraman,

Chennai

The verdict in the Sankararaman murder case was not all that unexpected. With most of the prosecution witnesses turning hostile at some stage of the trial, what else could have emerged in a case like this? The cold-blooded and blatant daylight murder of the employee of Sri Varadarajaswami temple, within the precincts of the temple, remains unresolved.

S.V. Venugopalan,

Chennai

Although we are relieved that the Sankaracharyas have been acquitted, the question of who killed Sankararaman remains. The government should nab the actual culprits involved in the murder. Only then will justice be done to his bereaved family.

M. Rajagopal,

Chennai
