Vicious cycle

Hatred breeds hatred. The assault on Pakistani prisoner Sanaullah Ranjay in Jammu by a fellow prisoner during a ‘scuffle,’ ostensibly in retaliation to the killing of Sarabjit Singh, bears ample testimony to it.

Prisoners are criminals, whichever country they belong to. The attack on Sarabjit was a provocation for the attack on Ranjay. Now Pakistan is demanding from India all that India demanded from it a few days ago. But it must bear in mind that had Sarabjit not been attacked, the attack on the Pakistani prisoner would not have taken place. That said, it is only fair that India release the victim.
