Too little

This refers to the report that a self-regulatory body of television channels has asked a private channel to apologise to actor Ranjitha for showing “morphed” video clips of hers with a godman. The expression of apology by running scrolls every two hours for seven days seems to be too meagre a compensation for the damage caused to the actor’s reputation. The TV channel deserves severe punishment for befooling the public. Unfortunately, the Indian media, under severe marketing pressure, has created a sensation-mongering section of viewers and thrives on it.
