This refers to the report, “ >Modi dares EC to file another FIR against him ” (May 5). Mr. Modi’s outburst against a constitutional body like the Election Commission is unbecoming of his stature and does not portend well for our democracy. The EC is not a rival political party to be challenged. In doing so, he is only sending out the wrong signals and undermining the august institution. Mr. Modi appears to be getting carried away. The prime ministerial hopeful would do well to observe restraint in his speeches.
