Singapore’s strongman

March 26, 2015 01:45 am | Updated 01:45 am IST

>Lee Kuan Yew ’s corruption-free authoritarian rule and liberal economic policies in Singapore are what made it become one of the most favoured investment destinations in the world. This he could do because of the excellent geographic location of Singapore and its sturdy human resource. The creation of its super infrastructure, a great communication system, a pleasant living environment and even promoting the study of English are what have helped Singapore possess one of the most powerful service sectors. Mr. Lee’s clear-headed thinking on infrastructure development and the nurturing of a multiracial society should become a source of inspiration for India.
