Scaling new highs

July 07, 2017 12:15 am | Updated 12:15 am IST

Women’s cricket has come of age and the Indian team is proving it by breaking records. While Jhulan Goswami has already become the highest wicket-taker in ODIs, Mithali Raj is close to becoming the highest run-scorer. These achievements will add to those of pioneers like Shantha Rangaswamy and Diana Edulji. Women’s cricket is likely to come within the ambit of the BCCI and we can expect more laurels in the days to come. Further, India has emerged as one of the favourites to win the ongoing World Cup and its win over Sri Lanka on Wednesday only strengthened its position. Hope Mithali’s team keeps India’s flag flying high at the international level.
