This refers to the Editorial, “Dark truths about money” (Aug. 7), on the generation of black money through four major avenues. The growth of the parallel economy is akin to the growth of weeds in paddyfields. These are removed from arable lands and burnt. Black money cannot be eradicated unless the culprits are given exemplary punishment. The people’s mentality should also change, in the interest of the nation.
