While the adoption of a stance of neutrality and presenting an image of being “non-biased” have served India very well so far, it is now obvious that the Prime Minister will be more proactive and use trade and commerce aggressively to chart the path for a new India (“A doctrine of economic levers, soft power,” June 12). India will also work closely with its neighbours. With slight adjustments, the five-element Modi doctrine can be directed towards the U.S. and Russia too.
