Nepal looks to China

March 30, 2016 01:06 am | Updated 01:06 am IST

The recent visit of Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli to China more than being construed as pro-active diplomatic action should be seen as a result of immature political decisions by India in terms of blocking the supply of essential goods to Nepal (“ >No zero sums in this great game ”, March 28). As India is the most powerful country — in territory and economy — in the subcontinent, it is all the more reason why it show be more accommodative towards the concerns of its neighbours. It can ill-afford a situation where China has the upper hand.
