Need for restraint

Krishna devotees the world over are pained to note that hostility and suspicion to the Hare Krishna movement are still prevalent in Russia, even though the movement was legalised in 1988 (“Krishna yet to win Russian hearts,” Sept. 21). It may not be out of place to make a humble appeal to the Russian devotees of Lord Krishna to pursue the issue with restraint. They should not be aggressive in the propagation of Krishna Consciousness, as alleged by some sections. The Prime Minister can take up the matter gently during his visit to Russia next month.

ISKCON is an altruistic organisation operating all around the world.

It preaches devotion and tolerance for other religions. Branding such an organisation fanatical is unfortunate.
