Mr. Hazare has sensitised the whole nation to the need to root out corruption. At the same time, he should be more pragmatic. Otherwise, the frightful spectre of anarchy overshadowing the semblance of order and discipline will become real.
Mr. Hazare and his team will do the nation a great service by sustaining the groundswell of awakening till the next elections, and harnessing the energies generated.

Mr. Hazare's crusade against corruption ignited people's minds and woke up the UPA government from its deep slumber. However, the means adopted by Team Anna to achieve the goal are questionable. The Centre was initially slow to react to the demands of civil society. But later it gave room for discussion and genuinely tried to elicit the opinion of a cross-section of society.
Team Anna and the government had some differences. But Mr. Hazare's insistence that the Prime Minister and the judiciary be included within the purview of the Lokpal Bill seems to be asking for more than what we can digest at this stage.

With due respect to Mr. Hazare, I wonder whether he can dictate to an elected government. If he really feels that the whole nation supports him, he and his associates should contest elections, get elected to Parliament and make laws.

Even if Mr. Hazare's fast is successful and the Jan Lokpal Bill is accepted by the government and passed unanimously, corruption will continue. As long as our society accepts and respects a rich person irrespective of how he has acquired his wealth, corruption will continue.
