With the name of Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of BCCI chief N. Srinivasan and team principal of Chennai Super Kings, surfacing in the betting and spot-fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League, the issue is getting bigger and murkier. It has destroyed the credibility of the 2013 edition of the “Indian Paisa League.” A thorough investigation by an independent body is required to nail the culprits.
The award of the Champions Trophy should be deferred until after the investigations are over, or cancelled.

If the crowd at the IPL matches is any indication, it is clear that Indians have become immune to all shady affairs happening around them.
They seem to have decided to turn a blind eye to such goings-on and continue to support the sport.
