Murkier

With the name of Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of BCCI chief N. Srinivasan and team principal of Chennai Super Kings, surfacing in the betting and spot-fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League, the issue is getting bigger and murkier. It has destroyed the credibility of the 2013 edition of the “Indian Paisa League.” A thorough investigation by an independent body is required to nail the culprits.

The award of the Champions Trophy should be deferred until after the investigations are over, or cancelled.
