Modi’s TV interviews

April 18, 2014 12:30 am | Updated November 16, 2021 06:50 pm IST

This refers to the report on the interview that the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, had with ANI television (“ >Modi: I have excellent personal relations with Jayalalithaa ”, April 17). It is quite clear from it that there is no wave and that the BJP will eventually have to seek the support of regional parties such as the AIADMK and the NCP in the event of the BJP forming the government at the Centre. The possibility of a coalition has also been hinted at by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, as per the report, “Elect a ‘young government’: Sonia” (April 17) as she has clearly asked the people to reject the unbridled ambitions of “one individual.” The Congress exploring the possibility of a coalition with its outside support also cannot be ruled out.
