It is good that the Congress high command has decided to make Siddaramaiah Chief Minister of Karnataka. There are fears that the party may succumb to pressure tactics from dominant caste groups and foist Ministers on him. The mandate must be recognised in its entirety. The Chief Minister-designate should be given a free hand to assemble together a team of his choice. He has identified his priorities correctly and is capable of delivering, if left free.
