‘Fat’ tax and healthy eating

July 14, 2016 12:54 am | Updated 12:54 am IST

To be fair to the younger generation, it is difficult not to give in to the temptation of eating junk food (Editorial, July 13). A ‘Coke’ in hand while having sandwiches is the in-thing. The attractive presentation and generous servings are enough to send youngsters into the throes of ecstasy. One way to counter this rests with parents. Home food must be presented in an equally appetising way. Parents must also encourage their children to exercise. Children should be made aware of the dangers of lifestyle diseases. In the end, giving up burgers and pizzas for healthy ‘ dal-chawal-roti-sabzi ’ depends on the skills of parents.
