Diplomatic impunity?

The luxury of diplomatic immunity is the antithesis of the principle that crime under law must be punished (“ >Act with firmness ,” Editorial, Sep.14). It should be waived in cases such as this one concerning the Saudi Arabian diplomat. Such acts bring shame to the nation of the diplomat and the Saudi Arabian government should cooperate to ensure that there is a fair trial.

Ranchi It will be a sad moment for those agitating for justice for the victims if Riyadh takes no action against the diplomat. The Prime Minister’s visit later this year can be called off as a mark of protest and as a sign of our commitment to protect human rights of Nepali citizens working in our country.
