Clear signal

This refers to the cable of Charge d'Affaires Robert O. Blake — accessed by The Hindu through WikiLeaks — that describes the meeting of the diplomat with Prakash Karat, general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). The cable revealed how loyal Mr. Karat is to his party ideology. He has sent a clear signal to the U.S. that his party will never compromise on anything that will compromise India's economic policy.

The India Cables from the WikiLeaks on the discussion between the U.S. diplomat and Mr. Karat reflects the views of the CPI(M) leader and the party. When the diplomatic cables reflect the true perceptions of the staff of U.S. consulate in his case and that of many others, why does our Prime Minister dismiss the contents of the cables regarding cash-for-votes as trash?
