This refers to the report “Kingfisher staff refuse to accept salary offer” (Oct.23). How can the company offer just a part payment of dues? Is this to keep a hold on them?
If one is to go by other media reports, the owners and the Civil Aviation Ministry are to blame for the mess the company finds itself in. The Ministry should step in and sell the assets of the company.
The suspension of its operations is surely the beginning of the end (editorial, Oct.23).
FDI may help in the revival of the sick airline, but to an extent. Before this it must be ensured that the salary arrears of all staff including ground staff are paid in full. If foreign stakeholders and bankers are called in to revive the airline, they should see to it that the management is changed.
Kingfisher Airlines may soon become a memory. The government should nationalise the company and save its employees from losing their jobs.
