A literary genius

Writing is a unique creative endeavour involving imagination, intellect and emotion. Gabriel García Márquez became a household name through his works. In our college days we devoured his works with great relish, preferring them to prescribed books by other writers.

Márquez’s works transported readers to another world, just as intoxicants do. He had a special talent, unmatched by any other writer of his time, to conjure up bewitching images through his elegant lyrical prose. The amazing characters in his novels command that we identify with them.

One Hundred Years of Solitude” and “ Love in the Time of Cholera” are testaments to his genius. He has established himself in the pantheon of all-time great literary giants.
