>>A Perspective page article – “ >All eyes on Pluto ” – (July 28, 2015) said: “But why is there such increased interest among scientists in Pluto, located 5.8 billion km from the Sun and at the edge of the solar system?” However, “ >Historic fly-by ” (Editorial, July 22, 2015) said: “History was made ... when NASA’s New Horizons ... after travelling a distance of nearly 5 billion kilometres ...” The Editorial Desk's clarification: The different distances mentioned in the Editorial and the Perspective page piece are correct. While the article – “All eyes on Pluto” – talks about the distance between the Sun and Pluto (5.8 billion km), the Editorial is about the distance travelled by the spacecraft to reach Pluto (around 5 billion km).

>> “ >Left not to support Nitish-Lalu alliance ” (July 28, 2015) referred to an alliance formed under the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar by four parties including the National Congress Party . It should have been the  Nationalist Congress Party .

>>The Question Corner (Science and Technology, July 27, 2015) has erroneously stated that Israel is in Europe. It should have been Asia.
