The editorial, “Take child’s play seriously” (Oct. 8, 2013), stated wrongly that the National Early Childhood Care and Education policy is in draft form. It was approved by the Union Cabinet on September 20. In the approved form, the policy says the government shall provide universal access for each sub-stage defined, between ages 0 and 6, to health, nutrition, age-appropriate care, stimulation and early learning in a protective and enabling environment.
In the Sports page report, “Rohit all praise for backroom staff” (Oct. 8, 2013), a sentence in the penultimate paragraph read: “If someone had stayed with (Ajinkya) Rahane for another 15-18 balls, Rohit would have been sitting in my place.” It should have said: “…Rahul Dravid would have been sitting …”
