In a graphic on the ‘World’ page (Nov. 3, 2017, some editions) titled “A century since Balfour” the date of the Balfour Declaration was erroneously given as Nov. 2, 2017 . It should have been Nov. 2, 1917 .

One more correction in the report, “Fewer TB deaths in India: WHO” (Oct. 31, 2017): The second paragraph — which said, with 1.7 million new cases in 2016 , India continued to be the largest contributor to the global burden with up to a quarter of the 6.3 million new cases of TB ( up from 6.1 million in 2015 ) — should be recast to read: “With 2.79 million new cases in 2016 , India continued to be the largest contributor to the global burden with up to a quarter of the 10.1 million new cases of TB .

In “Karnataka in command” (Sport, some editions, Nov. 3, 2017), there was an erroneous reference to Karun Nair’s triple hundred on Test debut . Actually, he hit that triple century in his thirdTest at Chennai.
