Two militants of the banned Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) were apprehended by BSF along the Indo-Bangla border in Meghalaya on Friday night.

Rishot Singh Lyndoh and Surdor Kharakor were held near Dawki on the way back from Bangladesh after attending a meeting of the rebel group, a BSF spokesman said.

The duo told interrogators they were back from an HNLC meeting at Islapunji.

The militants are suspected to be involved in transfer of extorted money from India to Bangladesh and new recruitment of cadre for the outfit.
