SSLC examinations begin

A total of 45,725 students – boys 23,042 and girls 22,683 – of 525 govenrment and private schools appeared for the SSLC public examinations which commenced in 148 centres across the district on Friday.

The list included 187 differently abled students. A total of 125 visually impaired students wrote the examinations with the held of scribes. Of the 46,404 candidates who got the hall tickets, 679 did not turn up for the examinations on Friday, according to official sources.

Rohini R. Bhajibakare, District Collector, visited the Little Flower Higher Secondary School examination centre and monitored the smooth holding of the exams.

Members of the flying squads paid surprise visit to various schools to check malpractices. Tight security arrangements were at place at all the examination centres.

The District Collector has directed the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) crew to take the students appearing for the SSLC examinations without fail and drop them near the respective schools.

Namakkal

A total of 22,590 candidates – boys 11,911 and girls 10,679 – belonging to 308 government, self-financing and matriculation schools appeared for the SSLC examinations held in different centres in the district. Nintey nine differently abled students, including 61 visually impaired, wrote the examinations. A total of 501 private candidates too appeared for the examinations.

The District Collector M. Asia Mariam visited the Government Girls Higher Secondary School examination centre in Tiruchengode town. As many as 2,367 officials and teachers were pressed into service for holding the examinations, a press release of the District Collector issued here said.

Flying squad personnel visited various centres.

Krishnagiri

A total of 26,175 students appeared for the SSLC examinations in the district on Friday.

They included 12,424 girls and 13,186 boys from the two education districts of Krishnagiri and Hosur, and 565 private candidates.

The examinations are being held in 85 centres. A total of 85 scribes were engaged to help students. District Collector C. Kathiravan inspected some of the examination centres.

Dharmapuri

A total of 22,624 students appeared for the SSLC examinations here on Friday. This included 10,885 girls and 11,769 boys.

The administration has put in place a total of 1995 officials that include 80 chief invigilators, 1550 classroom invigilators, 80 department officials, 180 flying squad personnel among others. The administration has allowed 53 scribes to help differently abled candidates.
