Security has been tightened at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport here following an alert issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) about a suspected terror attack.

The alert came after BCAS received a tip—off from Delhi Police stating that there could be a “suspected terror attack” on April 22 at the airport and few other installations in the city, airport sources said.

There were also threats of attack on Santa Cruz railway station and a shopping mall in Lokhandwala.

The aerodrome security committee held a meeting on Wednesday and reviewed the security situation and preparedness at the Mumbai airport, sources said.
